Foundation and Its Objectives

With the divine blessings of Thakur Sri Ramakrishnadev Mahesh Shri Ramakrishna Ashram started its journey in 1950 (Bengali Agrahayan, 1357) under the presidentship of Swami Premaghanananda, a disciple of revered Swami Shivanandaji Maharaj, the second president of Sri Ramakrishna order, Belur Math. Mahesh Shri Ramakrishna Ashram was set up centering around "Kishor Bangla '', a Bengali monthly for children.The Ashram is run to impart social services, value education, charitable works, formal education following the ideologies of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansadeva, Sri Ma Saradadevi and Swami Vivekananda. Along with imparting value-based education and character building lessons among the young learners, the Ashrama & Math works for the upliftment of spiritual entity of an individual , organizes religious seminars, discussions, pujas and religious practices. All the properties of Ashram are under the control of the Board of Trustees of the Ashram Math.
